The notion that the capital is the place to be, whether that is due to location, population, services, tourism or various other factors, but never the less, it is a social, political and cultural nexus, effectively celebrating that civilization it embodies or dwells in.
Architecture is the key medium that allows this process to happen. As we are a relatively new nation, we do not have the ingrained heritage in our vernacular, but there is still a rich tapestry able to be woven between the ideas and values of the Australian people.
This notion of the Australian people is also a topic that must be considered, as there is the local notion of the Australian stereotype and embodiment. There though is also the global identity and perceived image, which must be considered, as it is a vital building block within Australia's growth and evolution into the future.
